Privacy Policy
Effective date: February 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how AppNextDoor Labs (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you use any mobile application published by AppNextDoor Labs (each an “App”, collectively “Apps”) on the Apple App Store or Google Play.
If you have questions, contact us at hello@appnextdoor.com.
Our Apps are generally designed to work without requiring an account. Depending on the App you use and the features you enable, we may rely on third-party services (such as advertising and purchase platforms) and device permissions (such as notifications or location) to provide functionality and support the Apps.
Information We Collect
1) Information you provide
Our Apps are designed to work without you providing personal information like your name, email, or phone number. If an App ever includes optional “Contact Us” or feedback features, any information you send is used only to respond to you.
2) Information collected automatically
Depending on the App and your device settings, the following information may be collected automatically:
- Advertising data (AdMob): device identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID), IP address, coarse location (approximate), ad interactions (impressions/clicks), and diagnostics to deliver, measure, and prevent fraud in ads.
- App performance data: crash logs, basic diagnostics, and performance metrics (often collected by the operating system or third-party SDKs).
- Purchase information (Apple IAP): purchase status/entitlements (e.g., whether “premium” is active). We do not receive your full payment details.
3) Location data
Certain Apps may request access to your device’s location only to provide location-based features (for example, showing nearby results). Location access is permission-based; you can control this in your device settings at any time. If you deny permission, the App may still work with reduced location-based functionality.
4) Notifications
Certain Apps may schedule local notifications on your device (for example, holiday reminders). Local notifications are created and stored on your device. If an App uses push notifications in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, may request permission and process a device push token to deliver notifications.
How We Use Information
- To provide and maintain the Apps and their features
- To show ads and measure ad performance (where ads are enabled)
- To enable and verify in-app purchases/subscriptions (where available)
- To improve reliability, troubleshoot crashes, and enhance user experience
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms
Third-Party Services
Our Apps may use third-party services that collect information to operate their features. Key services include:
- Google AdMob (ads, ad measurement, fraud prevention)
- Apple In-App Purchases (payment processing and subscription management for iOS apps that offer IAP)
- Platform services (Apple/Google may collect device and usage data as part of operating their app stores and operating systems)
Note: Third parties process data under their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing the relevant provider policies for details.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in these situations:
- With service providers that help run the Apps (e.g., ad providers) strictly for providing their services
- For legal reasons if required to comply with law, regulation, or legal process
- To protect rights and safety of users, the public, or our Apps (e.g., fraud prevention)
- Business changes (e.g., merger, acquisition) — we will provide notice if required
Data Retention
We retain information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Ad and diagnostic data retention is primarily controlled by the third-party providers and your device/platform settings.
Your Choices & Controls
- Ads / personalized ads: you can reset or limit ad tracking via your device privacy settings (availability varies by platform and region).
- Location: you can allow/deny location permission in your device settings.
- Notifications: you can enable/disable notifications in your device settings.
- Purchases: manage subscriptions via your Apple ID subscription settings (for iOS apps).
International Users
Our Apps may be used worldwide. Some processing may occur in countries other than where you live (for example, through third-party services). We take reasonable steps to protect information consistent with this policy.
Children’s Privacy
Our Apps are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Future Analytics
Currently, we generally do not use Google Analytics/Firebase Analytics. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, provide additional notices or choices.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Effective date” above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice within the App or via our app store listing.
